George Formby sings "My Little Stick of Blackpool Rock". Several shots (L/S & M/S) of George Formby on the stage, singing "My Little Stick of Blackpool Rock". He plays banjo and has a pianist on stage with him. Very cute - and terribly rude. Our collection is fully-digitised and we can continue to supply archive footage for your. Reply

This duets album includes the obvious influences (George Jones, Conway Twitty, Tammy Wynette) as well as a few surprises (B.B. King, Clint Eastwood). The Jones song, "A Few Ole Country Boys," and the title track were hit singles. Reply

Audio CD $ 5 Used from $ Special offers and product promotions. Amazon Business: For business-only I totally love the BBC mini-series "Blackpool," so I was thrilled to see a CD of the music used in this murder mystery/love triangle musical drama. This CD contains many, but not all, of the songs used over the six episodes. /5(7). Reply

Unsurprisingly, Formby made a live recording of the song for British Pathe at the Blackpool Winter Gardens accompanied by a pianist; it was actually the B Side of the less well known "Oh Dear, Mother". According to The George Formby Society, he made two recordings January 24, on Regal Zonophone, and also received a writing credit. Reply

Jul 19,  · The best we could find on that occasion was an end-of-pier show starring Russ Abbot. Our fellow 'turnip' Ossie Dales enjoyed annual holidays in Blackpool as a child/teenager, so he must have some memories to report. I have a CD of Frank Sinatra's appearance in Blackpool before a somewhat lukewarm audience that I suspect wasn't a full house. Reply
